Our own Jane Jackson, PTA, MS, just returned from the APTA House of Delegates meeting and Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. Health care reform can be intimidating for many, yet Jane traveled to D.C. to be the direct voice for all of our concerns. Jane met with the Senators and House of Representatives on Capitol Hill to ask their help in finally repealing the Medicare Cap on Physical Therapy. This patient advocacy opportunity was fantastic; she explained the importance of physical therapy and discussed why Congress must maintain physical therapy benefits in the new Health Care Reform Bill. Fountain Hills has a large population of Medicare beneficiaries and her voice was needed to protect this community’s health care needs, as well as supporting our physical therapy profession and 15 years of business in Fountain Hills.
