Hand Therapy, Burn and Stroke Rehabilitation

Aaron Willardson joined the Spooner Hand Therapy team in February of 2011. Aaron’s passion in the hand comes from working with several individuals who have sustained complex traumatic hand injuries as well as those who have debilitating degenerative hand conditions. Aaron feels it is a privilege to help these individuals regain their mobility, strength, and more importantly, their independence.

While attending Midwestern University, Aaron became fascinated with the mechanics and anatomy of the upper extremity. After taking splinting and Upper Extremity courses, he realized that becoming a hand therapist was his ultimate goal. For his internships with Midwestern, Aaron had the opportunity to be placed in the Arizona Burn Center (Phoenix, AZ) and HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital (Glendale, AZ), where he became well versed in upper extremity burn and stroke rehabilitation. Through hand therapy, Aaron gives his patients the opportunity to use their affected upper extremity to enjoy activities of daily living once again.  Aside from hand therapy, Aaron’s interests/hobbies include: spending quality time with his wife and little boy, wood working, playing various sports, motorcycling, and various outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, boating, wakeboarding, and snowboarding.
