Wear comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement, and properly fitted gym shoes.
Will it hurt?
Your therapist will listen to your concerns regarding pain and make every attempt to keep discomfort to a minimum.However, you may experience some soreness caused by new exercises, or some pain involved in the hands-on techniques that your therapist might perform following certain procedures.No treatment will be done to you unexpectedly.
Who will be treating me?
You will be treated by a licensed physical therapist at each of your visits. Your physical therapist at Spooner has completed aspecialized education program at an accredited university and passed a rigorous state board exam in order to treat patients.At Spooner, you will see the same physical therapist each time you come for your visit.Our therapists work very closely with the physicians in your community to help resolve injuries and conditions.
What is involved in a physical therapy visit?
Your first visit should include an evaluation by the physical therapist. Your physical therapist will perform an examination to identify current and potential problems. Based on the results of the examination, and considering your specific goals, your physical therapist will design a plan of care to include specific interventions and will propose a timetable to achieve these goals and optimize your function.
